DESCRIPTION:Due to inclement weather\, the exhibit on February 4 will be closed.  \nRing in the Year of the Tiger at Brookfield Place! Experience a multi-day celebration that includes a live ice carving\, kids crafts and more! \nLUNAR ICE  \nDiscover ice sculptures by New York City-based art collective\, Okamoto Studio\, on the Waterfront Plaza. In celebration of the Lunar New Year there will be a live ice carving and display all weekend long. \nLIVE ICE CARVING & EXHIBITION SCHEDULE: \nThursday\, February 3Live Ice Carving: 4:00 – 6:00 PMIce sculpture display open through 8:00 PM \nFriday\, February 4Due to inclement weather\, the exhibit will be closed. \nSaturday\, February 5Live Ice Carving: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PMIce sculpture display open through 6:30 PM \nKIDS CRAFTSSaturday\, February 5 at 11:00 AM \nFree craft kits provided by New York Chinese Cultural Center include “do it yourself” instructions on how to create your own Lunar New Year Lantern! Craft kits are first come\, first served. \nShop for a Cause \nShop for a Cause and Celebrate Lunar New Year in support of Apex for Youth. Spend $100 or more between January 31st and February 7th and BFPL will donate $8 to Apex for Youth. Receipt must be brought to BFPL concierge desk in order to count towards donation. BFPL will donate up to $28\,000 total. \nAbout Okamoto Studios \nOKAMOTO STUDIO is a NYC-based artist collective dedicated to creating a wide range of sculptures\, installations and performances made with crystal clear ice. From fashion shows\, film premieres\, product launches\, weddings and other private and public events\, OKAMOTO STUDIO is best known to elevate the artistry of ice carving through modern technology and contemporary sensibility.  \n \nWatch Lunar Ice sculptures come to life in this feature on Shintaro Okamoto as he prepared for the Lunar Ice exhibition at Brookfield Place in 2021. \nAbout New York Chinese Cultural Center \nFounded in 1974\, the New York Chinese Cultural Center (NYCCC)\, a nonprofit cultural and educational institution\, is dedicated to deepening the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture through the arts in the global and local communities.
